culture// Ink N Iron 2015

Who needs a DSLR camera, with a bunch of lens, to do show coverage? I can just shoot it with my trusty Olympus Stylus Epic! Ok, ok... I may not be taken seriously, but it was too damn hot and I'm not trying to show off.

So lets get into how Ink N Iron went for me this year... I caught up with friends and had some over-priced beer, people watched and listened to a bit of music.

This is the last year of the show, and I certainly wouldn't say they 'went out with a bang'. They did have a pretty good lineup with The Dickies, Wanda Jackson, Adolescents, and of course Gary Numan and Peter Murphy (he brought down the house). The showing of cars was a little lackluster - not in quality, but in quanity. There were plenty of vendors, but it would have been nice to have a little more diversity. Attendance seemed a bit low, based on past years, but everyone seemed to be having a good time. Sometimes smaller crowds are better. Lastly, one of the coolest parts of the show is the fact that it's at the Queen Mary - the boat is truly amazing. We will miss attending this event there, but everything must change and move forward and run their course. Looking forward to Ink N Iron Nashville!
