culture// Adopt Your New Best Friend | NKLA Super Adoption

NKLA (No-Kill Los Angeles) is an initiative led by Best Friends Animal Society that brings together passionate animal lovers, city shelters, and an entire coalition of animal welfare organizations to end the killing of dogs and cats in shelters throughout the city of Los Angeles. An ambitious goal they are looking to achieve by 2017.

NKLA’s plan is straightforward: provide spay/neuter services where they are needed most so that fewer animals go into shelters. They also spearhead events and promotions to increase adoptions so that more animals are placed into new homes.

On Saturday and Sunday, November 7th and 8th from 10am-4pm, NKLA will be hosting their Super Adoption with over 1,000 dogs, cats, puppies, and kittens from over 50 LA rescues and shelters. It’s all going down at the La Brea Tar Pits and Museum with adoptions fees as low as $50, including spray/neuter, shots, and microchips. What’s more, adopters receive a goody bag with collars, leashes, treats, coupons and other pet-related items (while supplies last).

This is a free event with LA’s tastiest food trucks and fun for the whole family. Adopt your new best friend and help make Los Angeles a No-Kill City.
